Access and hosting
Slime Guides is a static website hosted by Netlify, Inc. When you access the site, Netlify processes technical request data needed to deliver and protect it. Netlify's documentation identifies data such as the IP address, requested URL, request time, referrer and user-agent information in site traffic logs.
The purposes are to deliver the requested pages and assets, maintain stability and security, and prevent abuse. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR: the legitimate interests in providing a reliable and secure website. Netlify's data processing agreement describes provider-level security logging for components supporting its services, with those logs retained online for 90 days and offline for one year. This provider-level logging is separate from the Slime Guides retention policy for form submissions described below.
Contact form
The site has one public contact form, identified as contact, which
Netlify Forms processes. The form accepts a name (optional), email address, topic
and message. It also includes a hidden bot-field honeypot for spam
prevention. Email, topic and message are required so that the enquiry can be
handled; without them, it may not be possible to respond. There is currently no
public German contact form.
Netlify receives the submission, applies spam filtering and stores the submitted data as a technical processor. The configured workflow then sends a notification to the operational mailbox at hello@slimeguides.com.
The data is used to receive, manage and answer the enquiry and to prevent abuse. Article 6(1)(b) GDPR applies when the enquiry requests steps before a possible contract. For general enquiries, security and abuse prevention, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR and the legitimate interests in communicating about the project and protecting the form.
Contact by email
The operational mailbox is provided by Namecheap, Inc. through Namecheap Private Email. When you send an email, the provider processes the addresses and other delivery metadata, the message content and any information you include so that the message can be received, stored, managed and answered.
The same legal bases apply as for form enquiries: Article 6(1)(b) GDPR for requested pre-contractual steps and Article 6(1)(f) GDPR for general communication and the legitimate interests in managing enquiries and maintaining secure email operations.
Retention
These are Slime Guides retention decisions, not provider guarantees. Ordinary Netlify form submissions are kept for no more than 90 days from receipt and deleted sooner when no longer needed. Ordinary email is kept for no more than 12 months after the matter is closed and is also deleted sooner when no longer needed. Synthetic test data is deleted immediately after validation. Data is retained for longer only where a concrete legal obligation requires it.
Recipients and international transfers
Personal data is disclosed only as needed to Netlify, Inc. for static hosting and Netlify Forms, and to Namecheap, Inc. for Private Email. The providers may use contracted sub-processors to deliver those services and may process data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States.
Netlify's data processing agreement states that restricted transfers to Netlify are based on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and, where that mechanism does not apply, the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. Namecheap's data processing addendum provides for the Standard Contractual Clauses for transfers to countries without an EU adequacy decision. No particular server region is promised. Further details are available in the providers' Netlify data processing agreement and Namecheap data processing addendum.
Your rights
Subject to the applicable legal conditions, you may request access to and rectification or erasure of your personal data, restriction of processing, object to processing, and receive data portability where applicable. If processing is ever based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time without affecting processing carried out before withdrawal. To exercise these rights, email hello@slimeguides.com.
Right to complain
You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The supervisory authority responsible for non-public organisations in Bavaria is the Bayerisches Landesamt für Datenschutzaufsicht (BayLDA). You may also contact another competent authority, in particular in the EU Member State of your habitual residence, place of work or the alleged infringement.
